Whilst 90% of the jerky is made up solely of beef, we do have to add other ingredients to make a well formed nutritional product, let's break them down;
Glycerine is an oil from vegetable products such as coconut and is used to bind ingredients together.
Lignocellulose is a natural plant-made ingredient and the scientific term for dietary fibre. It helps to digest the other ingredients and give the feeling of 'fullness'.
Sodium chloride is more commonly known to you and me as salt. We add the tiniest amount of this as it helps cells to function in your pooch's body, maintaining fluid balance, acid-base balance and nerve signal transmission.
High value rewards elicit a strong emotional response from your dog and are the treats that they absolutely love and will do anything for. Low value rewards are the the standard treats that you use on a daily basis for ongoing training and good behaviour. You might use a high value reward when first teaching a new trick or desired behaviour to encourage the dog to engage more to get the reward. High value treats such as jerky should be an exciting treat (not fed on a regular basis) for good behaviour or just to show your pooch how much you love them, so they're are excited to receive it each time.
This Jerky is suitable for all breeds and ages from 8 weeks old, however we always recommend that you supervise your dog when eating any treats or chews to ensure they don't swallow it whole and there is no choking hazard.
