For pooches and mutts who need a little help unwinding, our Calm & Relaxed range naturally supports them from top to tail. Packed with gentle, soothing ingredients like Hemp, Chamomile, and L-Tryptophan, these calming concoctions help ease stress, promote relaxation, and support overall wellbeing. Designed for serenity, it keeps your dog calm, content, and comforted at the most stressful of times.
There are lots of natural anxiety remedies for dogs and we’ve crammed many of them into our Calm & Relaxed dog food range. Chamomile, for instance - used for centuries as a natural relaxation aid; sweet potato which contains ‘anti-stress’ B vitamins; and hemp, known to naturally lower stress levels. Turkey (as mentioned) also contains L-tryptophan, an amino-acid that helps release the happy hormone, serotonin. Infused into our delicious grain-free dog food and healthy treats, these natural calming aids will have your dog feeling chilled and relaxed in no time.
Whether calming dog food works always depends on your particular dog and what they respond to, but plenty of experts agree that natural anxiety remedies have a positive effect on dogs’ behaviour. It’s also scientifically proven that what your dog eats and digests will have a direct impact on their mood, as the stomach and brain are intrinsically linked via the gut-brain axis.
There’s no specific link between eating grains and excitable behaviour, but lots of commercial dog foods use grain as a filler ingredient alongside preservatives and other nasties. As many dogs are allergic to grain, they may be more likely to display anxiety symptoms on a grain-fed diet due to an undetected food allergy. For this reason, hypoallergenic grain-free dog food can calm dogs’ behaviour by having a positive impact on digestion, and therefore your dog’s body and mind.
